    Temporary Hoisting License Requirements

If you are operating hoisting equipment in the State of Massachusetts, whether owned or rented, you must hold a valid DPS Hydraulic License or a Temporary Hoisting License Permit during the period of operation. This is required by Massachusetts law.

Hoisting equipment generally includes hydraulic equipment that meets any of the following criteria:

    • Lifts more than 500 lbs.

    • Lifts higher than 10 feet.

    • Has a bucket capacity greater than ¼ cubic yard.

How to Apply for a Temporary Hoisting License:

    1. Click the "Hoisting Class" button below.

    2. If this is your first time using the system, select "Register New User" and create an account.

    3. Select the type of equipment you plan to rent.

    4. Enter our Rental Facility ID Number: 0152782.

    5. Complete the payment information to enroll in the course.

    6. Begin the online training course.

    What's Next?

Once you have completed the course and received your temporary permit, you'll be ready to rent the equipment needed for your project.

Before delivery, we will need a copy of your valid driver's license. Upon delivery, our team will review the machine's operation, go over important safety information, and answer any questions to ensure you are comfortable operating the equipment safely and confidently.
